Psychotherapy is about getting to know yourself, finding a way to accept who you are and where you've been, and figuring out how to end repetitive life patterns that feel like they're going nowhere. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationship patterns, an eating disorder, addictions, or simply want to jump-start your personal growth and build self-esteem, the goal of therapy is to reduce your suffering and give you better tools to cope with stress.
My way of working with clients incorporates aspects of insight-oriented (sometimes called "psychodynamic"), cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-oriented therapy methods. In addition, I am in the process of becoming a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), currently at the intermediate level. This is a way of helping you learn about your nervous system from the inside out, so that you can be more resilient to current stressors as well as any past traumas or negative learning experiences.
What's at the heart of good therapy is something beyond theory - the personal, respectful, and authentic relationship we build collaboratively in our sessions.

Services
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience helping adults of all ages grow and change in ways that feel meaningful to them.
I am experienced in treating specific disorders like anorexia/bulimia/binge eating, addictions, OCD, generalized anxiety, depression, and ADD, but I also work with more general issues like unstable self-esteem, relationship difficulties, procrastination, and parenting struggles.
Over the years, my practice seems to have attracted a lot of people who may identify as "highly sensitive, " (sometimes with sensory integration challenges or struggles with mood).
