Life can be really hard on us - so many of us are experiencing this as we are trying to get back to some sense of normalcy after this pandemic - and sometimes we need some help, someone who will listen without judging or telling us how we should feel or what we should have done. Sometimes we just want to be heard. While we may or may not know what we have or what we are dealing with, we are certain that we want to feel better.

Depression, anxiety and other mental health issues are extremely common, so if you are experiencing any of these or if they are happening more frequently now more than ever, you are not alone. It can be very difficult to reach out for help, so if you're reading this you've already taken that first big step. I'm ready to join and support you as you continue down the path to feeling better.

I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered and solution-focused approaches to aid in the therapeutic process and I also strongly believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.
Services
I became a therapist because I believe mental health is so crucial to our overall well-being yet it is vastly under-served.
Through my personal and professional experiences, I have witnessed the strain people experience when they are suffering from mental illness.
I have also seen the transformational power of therapy and real changes for the better by those who were suffering.
My time spent with clients has shown how often people experience guilt and shame due to feeling judged by others.
As we work together to explore their experiences, we generally are able to identify a series of events that led them to think, feel and behave the way they do.
I believe the best results for clients occur when the client-counselor relationship is a partnership with a shared goal of helping the client feel better.
Each person brings their own strengths, as the client is the expert of her or his life experiences and the counselor is the licensed professional who has the education and counseling experience that best positions them to serve their clients.
My past experiences have taught me that this type of approach - based on equality and shared responsibility for an improvement in the client's life - leads to the best results.
To schedule an appointment, you can call me at 443-364-8010 or email challcounselor@gmail.com.
My hours are flexible, so please indicate what day(s) and time(s) work best for you along with any questions you may have.
If you'd like to talk on the phone prior to scheduling a session to get a sense for who I am and whether you think we would be a good fit, I'm happy to do that as well.
I accept Aetna, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna and United Healthcare and will see clients who wish to use an out of network (OON) provider.
