Sometimes sorting through life-changing decisions, unresolved past issues, family struggles or trauma recovery proves to be too much to handle alone. Whatever your situation, I am dedicated to helping you achieve the emotional clarity necessary to reach your goals for mental wellness or professional and personal gain.

My own life experiences in the United States Army, in different sectors of the business world, as a husband and a father, as a older-than-average college student, and now as a licensed counselor, have taught me that each person's journey is unique.Personal life experiences affect us deeply, shaping the way we perceive and approach difficult times and often necessitating changes in course.

We all have within us the answers and means to make the big choices and changes that will help us peacefully take the next step in our personal journeys. Through carefully tailored one-on-one, couples or group counseling sessions, hope and healing is possible. Whether your decision to seek a therapist's guidance coincides with a current, but temporary situation, something from the past that is holding you back, or it's time to integrate regular therapy sessions into an ongoing health plan, I hope you'll let me help.
Services
I wasn't born in the Lone Star State, but, as Texans like to say, "I got here as fast as I could!"
I've called Austin home since choosing to pursue my dream of becoming a professional counselor and therapist at the University of Texas at Austin in 2001.
Waiting until my mid twenties to begin my collegiate journey means I was a non-traditional university student, having already gleaned valuable life experiences that I could apply to my academic studies.
Working on the labor and management sides of the corporate world and later serving in the United States Army during operation Desert Storm/Shield not only prepared me for, but led me to my chosen career path.
I offer a broad range of counseling services through individual and group sessions based on therapeutic intervention to meet the needs of a diverse client roster.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are forms of psychotherapy that can be used to address a number of traumatic disorders by working to change ways of thinking that are not constructive to solving current problems.
Each method of treatment, has its own unique benefit and target clients.
Psychologist Francine Sharpiro, invented the breakthrough therapy known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in the late 1980s.
An innovative approach to psychotherapy used for treating trauma victims, EMDR has the ability to heal the symptoms and emotional distress triggered from traumatic memories through processing past events, targeting the internal and external factors causing current distress, and incorporating skills needed to result in adaptive functioning.
EMDR offers relief of symptoms and emotional distress to those experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD.)
