Services
Bio: I was born and raised in the greater Seattle area of Washington State.
After serving a full-time proselyting mission for the LDS church in Milan Italy in 2001 I moved to Utah to pursue higher education in mental health.
I enjoy cinema, sports, road-trips through scenic highways and byways to picturesque destinations, reading self-help literature and spending time with family and friends.
Credentials: I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and hold Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees from Brigham Young University of Provo, respectively.
Individual therapy, or individual counseling, is a form of therapy in which you work one-on-one with a mental health professional for support in resolving problems causing you some measure of distress or impairment.
Together, you and your therapist may work to achieve certain objectives, increase various competencies and self-confidence, or in a more general sense, find an internal sense of peace.
It may be time to seek therapy if an issue is causing you moderate to sever mental, emotional or even physiological distress and or impairment.
A review and discussion of your historical background (as you indicated in your Intake Questionnaire, prior to the appointment).
Discussion of your expectations in therapy, and development of a Treatment Plan, including the clarification of problem(s) you wish to resolve, and the establishment of goals and objectives to resolve them with.
The initial session is also to assess whether I will be a good fit for you, in terms of professional and personal compatibility.
Your interests and therapeutic outcomes are of paramount importance to me, so if at any time you feel that I am not meeting your therapeutic needs, please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll be happy to refer you to someone who can.
If you wish to keep such information from your insurer, other forms of payment are acceptable (see below).
For your convenience and privacy, I do accept other forms of payment; including debit card, credit card, flexible spending/benefits card, and cash.
While payment is expected at the time of service with such methods, no mental health diagnosis is required, and your personal health information is protected from your insurance provider.
Bean Counseling & Recovery uses a secure electronic health record (EHR), which includes a card (credit, debit, flexible spending/benefit) processing system that saves your card information onto the EHR, but blocks your therapist's access to your card information.
