Clarity Counseling is an outpatient treatment center that commits to providing quality treatment to individuals, families, and groups in the Northern Virginia region and Richmond area. Clarity specializes in providing comprehensive and evidenced-based treatment for individuals and families impacted by mental illness. Our providers are certified and specialized in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and are trained in Trauma Informed Therapies.

Great for challenges and exposure work, this office is just a quick drive to our nation's capital. The Gainesville office is just minutes from Gateway Shopping Center and the new Haymarket hospital.

Clarity Counseling's mission is to provide evidence-based treatment to individuals and families and commit to the prevention, education, and researched based interventions to those who live in Northern Virginia and the Greater Richmond Area.
For too many years there have been limited services in this area, and Clarity is very excited to be working in Gainesville, Reston, Richmond AND offering virtual therapy in VA, MD, DC, and NC! Clarity offers individual, family, group, and nutritional services in-house with experienced providers, some of whom are specialized and certified in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma based therapies, and dialectical behavioral therapy.

We are running both virtual and in-person groups at this time, so please read carefully which option is offered per group.
VIRTUAL 13 Week DBT Skills Group is on Thursday's at 4 - 5pm (ages 16 - 21 yrs) and 5 - 6:30 (ages 22yrs and older).
Alicia Ayvas, LCSW was trained in DBT in 2009 at Columbia University and is overseeing the Thursday night group that will be run by Katie Bowler, LCSW.
The group is energetic, educational, and targets all 4 modules in DBT and will leave clients with a comprehensive binder of all of the skills learned throughout the group.
Clarity is releasing a series of five minute videos for clients and the community, focusing on topics and strategies that are relevant to current needs.
The last series focused on "Being Patient in an Inpatient World" and reviewed skills for the holidays.
The newest series titled "Vibe Changers" looks at concepts for tolerating intense stress and navigating through uncertainty.
The videos are a tool and a resource as we enter into a new year.
