How Counseling can help you Stop Struggling and Start Thriving in your Relationships, Sexuality, Work, and Life. Hi, I'm Mark Henry and if you're like many of the Portland area men and women I've counseled, you're torn between the struggle of meeting the demands of your work, family, and relationships, while still getting your own needs met. Many of my clients didn't know what to do and weren't sure about counseling.

Getting on the path to better relationships, a satisfying sexual life, vitality, and enjoyment, took personal courage and a strong dose of encouragement from their spouse, partner, boy/girlfriend, or friend to give me a call. Maybe this sounds like you. I know that the decision to seek help is a complicated one. That's why I've provided some free resources, and more information about me to help guide you in deciding whether to make that call.

You don't have to keep struggling in silence telling yourself this is just the way life is and to just push on through, suck it up. You strive so hard for the gold medal, but end up unhappy, with what looks like a perfect life.
Services
Many of you who are thinking about relationship counseling have been struggling for some time now.
If you're like most, you have grown tired of feeling stressed, distant from your partner, and wonder why it's so hard to be in a relationship.
Right away, I will provide you with the tools to relieve some of that stress.
We will continue building long-term skills that will provide clarity about what are reasonable needs and wants.
Through this process you will learn more about yourself and develop greater understanding and compassion for each other.
In 50-minute in-office, telephone, or online sessions, we will identify the problems that you struggle with most.
Using support and objective feedback that you can't get from your friends and loved ones, we will work together to design solutions and assignments that will bring the changes you want.
For better or for worse, technology has become an essential part of all of our lives - it can even be useful in personal growth work.
While using the telephone or Internet for therapy is not ideal, phone sessions or online video conferencing can be an effective and convenient alternative to face-to-face sessions when meeting in person isn't possible.
These free recommended resources are intended to answer questions, provide insight, and to get you thinking about ways to improve your life and relationships.
Of course they are not intended as a replacement for individually planned therapy.
An affair: it can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity.
And yet, this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood.
Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so too the prohibition against it-in fact, it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy.
It's easy to get caught up in day to day life and forget to reflect on how your actions, behaviors, past, habits, etc. can affect your relationships - this can be anything from keeping your relationship from really thriving, to actually putting strain on it, often to the point of breakup.
More exercises will be added very soon.
As always, you're welcome to contact me for feedback on any exercise you choose to take on.
How Your Past Influences How You Love In step two of Stella Resnick's, The Heart of Desire, she provides some exercises that can help you recognize how your past is present in how you love, and to explore some of the pleasures of love.
