I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of MN with a Masters Degree from St. Cloud State University in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I have had the privilege of being a mental health provider in the Moorhead area for over a decade. I am a "family therapist" and enjoy working with any one member of a family all the way to working with couples and the entire family.
My years of experience have included working with high risk families (including abuse, neglect, and mental illness), children at risk of being placed outside of the home or helping families to reunify, coaching parents on how to implement more effective parenting strategies (ie. Love and Logic, 123 Magic, etc, foster care support, completing mental health assessments on ages 0-5, improving children's behavior and improving parent-child relationships, teaching social skills, and providing couple's and family therapy.
I use an interactive, solution focused, and strengths based approach in my sessions. Feel free to contact me at 218-284-9672 to find out more about my approach and the type of therapy services I can offer.

To establish this trust, it is important that we match and form an effective therapeutic relationship.
I would like to invite you for a preliminary talk so that we can get to know each other and choose the right direction.

In the first session we complete paperwork, discuss confidentiality, and begin to hear your story.
The focus of the second session is to continue to hear your story and discover potential areas of strength and improvement.
The third and fourth sessions are typically a time to write down what the focus of counseling will be, called a Treament Plan.
For my child to follow directions the first time; To yell less at my child(ren) or spouse/partner; To improve family member relationships, etc.
The treatment plan outlines your specific goals, how we will measure them, and what will happen to help you reach them.
