You may have some questions at this point regarding some of the "practical" aspects of my clinical mental health practice, such as fees, services, etc.
I hope the information below is helpful as you and, as always, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
The first session/intake interview typically lasts 90 minutes.
I like for this session to be a bit longer than other sessions so that I can get as much background information as possible in order to offer the best help I can.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) Training from a Member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
I offer several options for training in MI, no matter your level of knowledge or experience in the technique.
Below I have outlined different trainings for individuals and groups, although please contact me if you are looking for other options for personal, group, or staff training in MI.
Description: Bill Miller, the co-founder of MI, is fond of saying that learning any technique such as MI is like learning how to play the piano.

What is the difference between a mental health counselor and a psychiatrist?
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in understanding how medications for mental health disorders (such as mood disorders) interact with the body and other medications you may be taking.
Some psychiatrists may provide occasional therapy but they primarily provide medication.
Mental health counselors are trained, licensed professionals who specialize in understanding mental health and addictions.
They provide counseling and do not prescribe medication.
