For 50 years, New Morning has provided a safety net of services to youth and their families in El Dorado County. These services include the 24-hour Emergency Youth Shelter (the only one in El Dorado County) for homeless and runaway youth.

We have programs to support alcohol and drug treatment for adolescents, counseling and support for pregnant and parenting teens, and counseling for high-risk youth (youth who are abused, suicidal, experiencing school failure, runaway or thrown out of their home, or engaging in delinquent behavior).The vision of New Morning Youth & Family Services is to foster a community where all children and families live in a safe and nurturing environment.

To create and maintain the most effective services possible to respond to the mental health and safety needs of youth in El Dorado County.
Services
New Morning is an experienced non-profit organization [501(c)3] that has provided a safety net of services to troubled youth and their families on the Western Slope of El Dorado County since 1970.
Over 30 staff members provide a full range of services addressing family dysfunction.
New Morning's therapists are among the highest trained in the community, holding licenses as Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
Since 2013, New Morning has provided counseling and other services to over 8,759 young people at sites throughout the Western Slope of El Dorado County.
Founded in 1970 to address the growing drug epidemic affecting the community and its youth, New Morning is now the longest-serving nonprofit in El Dorado County.
For 50 years, New Morning has expanded its work to partner with schools, law enforcement, public agencies, and other nonprofit organizations to build a safety net for nearly 1,500 troubled children in our community each year.
New Morning provides the County's only shelter for runaway, homeless or abandoned youth.
We also provide more counseling services to school-aged children than any other provider in the County.
In his professional life, Don provides consulting services to healthcare organizations as well as to companies that provide products and services to the health industry.
His services focus on issues related to industry trends, strategic direction, market position, relationship management, and product development.
He has consulted with insurance companies, pharmacy benefits managers, software companies that specialize in healthcare, and medical device startups.
Mr. Sacco was a national leader in the formation of consumer-directed healthcare products and services.
New Morning has provided a safety net to troubled children and their families in El Dorado County, CA, for over 45 years.
In addition to the County's only emergency youth shelter, we provide counseling for children, teens and families in several locations.

A. The agency initially began when a group of people met in the basement of the Federated Church in early 1970.
The primary issue of concern was that kids in town were obviously under the influence of drugs and no local resources existed to help.
New Morning responded to those issues and by 1976 had expanded its professional counseling services to help support youth with other issues (such as child abuse).
50 years New Morning has provided a safety net for some of our community's most at-risk youth.
