Melinda Richter, LCSW, BCD and Jerry Skogmo, LCPC, CADC have over twenty-five years of experience treating various populations and an extensive range of clinical conditions. Treatment is designed to target dysfunctional behaviors and unhealthy, unproductive ways of coping. Since stress is a given in our society today, learning how to manage it effectively can lead to a better quality of life.

We believe in a comprehensive initial assessment in order to clearly identify problem areas. We tailor the treatment to the unique needs of each person we serve. We utilize an integrative approach to treatment because we believe that each individual responds differently to the stress and demands of his/her environment. In addition, we work with a number of psychiatrists, who will if necessary, provide a medication evaluation and medication therapy.

A central theme in our work is an emphasis on respecting our clients and the experiences that they have encountered. We stress individual responsibility and believe that each client can, with help, attain a high level of self-respect and self-esteem.
