Sakowitz counseling was founded by Dr. Michael Sakowitz in 1976 and he has been providing psychotherapy and psychological assessments to Passaic, Morris, and Bergen counties ever since. As his practice grew, other associates joined and currently there are over 15 associates working within the practice, making it one of the largest psychotherapy practices in the area.
All therapists hold either a masters or doctoral degree, as well as being licensed by the state of New Jersey. From the first time you call our offices, you will speak to our caring office staff who will help you find the appropriate therapist and provide you with an appointment that fits with your schedule. Once you have an appointment, your next contact will be with your assigned therapist.

Originally starting as a small private practice, over the years it has expanded to the practice it has become today with over 15 associates.
Having grown up in and around the practice and filling many roles during her summer breaks as a high school student, their daughter (Corey) joined the practice as a therapist after completing her MSW degree at NYU.
