Me, a HIPPAA compliant platform. If you are struggling during this trying time contact us through email or telephone to set up an appointment. What can I expect from counseling?
Counseling seeks to help clients change behavior, attitudes, and/or perceptions about themselves, others, and the world around them.
During counseling, we seek to stimulate growth.
Counselors seek to arouse the belief that help is possible, correct erroneous beliefs about the world, develop competencies in social living, and help clients accept themselves as persons of worth.
Counselors ask: What is the problem?
Should I intervene and try to help you?
What could I do to help? Sometimes, counselors might tell people what to do, but counselors use skillful questioning to help clients resolve their own problems.
I've decided I want to get counseling for my child/ren.
What do I look for?
In choosing a counselor for your child/ren, look for someone who has experience with children-especially if your child is facing specialized issues (e.g., ADD/ADHD, divorce, stepfamily issues, school behavior, substance use, etc.).
What ages of children does the Center for Families work with?
We work with kids from 6 on up.
In the case of a need for family counseling, children younger than that can be seen as part of the process of helping the family.
Discussions devolve into unproductive conversations in which the 'D' word (divorce) is used frequently.
One member of the couple has had an extra-marital affair-either physically or emotionally.
How much does Couples Counseling Cost?
Couples Counseling - First Session (80-90 minutes).
Couples Counseling - Regular Session (80-90 minutes).
Visit the Fees & Payment page for more information.
Will my health insurance pay for the counseling?
Sometimes it will, but not always.
If in doubt, contact your insurance company.
