I am a Cancer Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and 12 year Cancer Survivor dedicated to helping you not only survive cancer, but to THRIVE! My work (and this website) is devoted to providing you the guidance, emotional support, coping skills, and resources you need to successfully navigate the difficult journey through cancer treatment and cancer survivorship.
Anyone who has been touched by cancer can tell you that the experience can be devastating for your body, mind, and spirit. It is so common for people with cancer and their loved ones to feel overwhelmed, disoriented, anxious, and scared. Even after treatment for cancer is finished, it might not be clear what to do next. I work with people who are looking for guidance and support to live their best life after a cancer diagnosis.
Do you feel that cancer has given you the opportunity to make changes and live a better life? Do you believe that there is a growth opportunity in this incredibly difficult experience? Would you like to learn some practical and useful skills for managing difficult emotions, such as anxiety and depression?

A cancer diagnosis can be one of the most stressful and destabilizing experiences that a person can go through.
It is a traumatic series of events in which a person's life is threatened, their physical and emotional health is compromised, and their future becomes uncertain.
Long after their diagnosis, many people continue to feel vulnerable, anxious, and scared.
Certain memories and reminders of their cancer can trigger a flood of disturbing emotions.
EMDR processing allows a person to learn what is necessary and useful from the experience of having cancer.

Studies have shown that positive imagery - the way you mentally conceptualize your cancer, treatment, and your own immune system - is correlated with better patient outcomes.
In Module 2: Imagery and Visualization you will learn how to use effective visualizations to relax, break the cycle of tension and fear, cope more effectively with your life and your disease, and reinforce your beliefs in your ability to recover from cancer.

I do not currently accept insurance, however I am considered to be an Out-of-Network Provider.
My clients pay me directly, and then I give my clients an itemized form (also known as a "Super Bill") that they submit to their insurance company as an out-of-network claim.
Depending on what kind of out-of-network benefits you have, you will either receive a full reimbursement (as many of my clients do), a partial reimbursement, or if you have a high deductible plan it will count towards your deductible and you will not receive a reimbursement.

On the day that I was diagnosed with cancer, I sat anxiously in a sterile hospital room with white walls, intrusive fluorescent lighting, and paper covered seats.
Several nurses were rushing nervously in and out.
The news of my cancer diagnosis left me shaken, disoriented, and scared.
But at the same time, this crisis in my life gave me an invaluable opportunity to examine what I wanted more of in my life, and where I was wasting precious time and energy.
As a cancer patient I wanted to know how I could not only survive, but how I could THRIVE!
