Through a holistic counseling approach, it is my goal to help as many children as I can by making sure they have the tools needed to thrive and be happy with who they are as unique individuals. Play therapy is based upon the foundation that play is the child's natural way of expressing their feelings. Through various types of play, children can safely learn to understand their feelings and conflicts.
With the help of a therapist, they are given an opportunity to confront these feelings and gain increased self-control, confidence and social skills. Animal assisted therapy is a goal-directed treatment process in which animals are used to enhance an individual's physical, emotional and social well-being, which improves self-esteem, reduces anxiety and facilitates healing.
Therapy animals provide a nonjudgmental space making it easier for clients to express their feelings. This social interaction can increase school behavior by increasing confidence and attention skills in children and adolescents.

Counseling techniques are geared to be age and developmentally appropriate for each individual client.
My personal approach is holistic in that one does not have to be diagnosed or labeled to be a candidate for gaining tools needed to live a successful and happy lifestyle.
Treating the symptom is not enough.
It is important to determine the cause and triggers that lead to the symptoms.
My goal is to provide tools to increase self-awareness and help clients and their families work towards positive change.
