Counseling Centers For Human Development
We are seeking a part-time compassionate and experienced LCSW. We offer flexible hours, a relaxed and friendly workplace, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients. At this time sessions can be either face to face at our office in Cranford or can be done through teleservices at home. At some point in our lives, most of us need to reach out for help.

We turn to family, friends, clergy, people we love and trust. Sometimes, however, we may need something different, an objective professional, but, still a person who will be non-judgmental, caring, and empathic. Our highly trained experienced therapists will help you in resolving a crisis or in working through a long-standing issue.

Our executive director will select a therapist who has special expertise in the area you are concerned about whether that concern is parenting, depression, anxiety, divorce or any other issue.
Services
The Counseling Centers for Human Development is an association of non-profit, interfaith and interdisciplinary counseling centers.
We provide confidential and compassionate counseling and psychotherapeutic services through highly trained and licensed professionals.
We understand how difficult it is for anyone to take that first step for care.
At the Center, in a safe and nonjudgmental environment, our therapists apply the insights of psychiatry and psychology to help people find health, wholeness, and meaningful answers to improve their lives.
The Counseling Centers for Human Development, Inc.(CCHD) began in 1974 as an outgrowth of the Institutes of Religion of Health/Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute in Manhattan.
Incorporated as a non-profit corporation, CCHD has grown and matured as the field of mental and behavioral health has become more sophisticated.
Our home office in Cranford has been located in the Cranford United Methodist Church.
We are nonsectarian; however the church has been our home for almost 30 years.
Initially most of the therapists were ministers who had received advanced clinical training in the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute's stringent three year program.
We will offer the member of our clinical staff who has the most experience in the area of concern.
At times, life struggles can appear insurmountable especially when they present so close to home.
Thoughtful support and guidance from our experienced counselors can lead to a promising passage out of the chaos and into a more peaceful future.
The more difficulties one has to encounter, within and without, the more significant and the higher in inspiration his life will be.
A young man approaches me in our parking lot and asks " Are you Linda Van Fossen?"
He introduces himself and explains that he just wants to thank me and tell me how grateful he is for his therapist and the work they are doing together.
As I walk into our office, my step is light, a smile on my face.
All kinds of people come to the CCHD - hurting, frightened, angry, sad, and confused needing a safe place to talk.
When I approach a child, he inspires in me two sentiments; tenderness for what he is, and respect for what he may become.
The hauntingly beautiful words in the song "The Children are our Future" remind us of our commitment to work with children and their families as they struggle to find their way with a complicated world.
Several of our therapists have the special training to work with young children/adolescents through play therapy.
Specifically trained clinicians also work with therapeutic sand trays to assist children in expressing their feelings.
