We are a group of new and seasoned professionals who share a common interest and expertise in issues of loss, trauma, addictions, depression, anxiety, relationships, and healing. We believe deeply in each person's innate resilience and ability to grow through crises and transitions. Our goal as therapists is to provide a safe and compassionate place where clients from all over NOVA get encouragement and support needed to navigate through life challenges.

Individual therapy (sometimes called "psychotherapy" or "counseling") is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist-in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Group psychotherapy or group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which one or more therapists treat a small group of clients together as a group.

Couples or marriage counseling is offered to support people in relationships who may be considering separation or seeking improved intimacy and understanding.

This group meets on a weekly basis with the focus on working through your pre-purchased "Facing the Shadows" by Patrick Carnes, Ph.
D. It will help you understand your addictive cycle and how you can begin to change.
This group is appropriate for you if you are involved with Pornography, Prostitution, Bikini Barista Stands, Webcaming, Flirting, Erotic Massage, Voyeurism, Sexual chat, Sexting, Social Media, Cybersex, Serial sexual and emotional affairs, Sexual Anorexia and other unwanted sexual behaviors.
New Directions Counseling Group has a diverse staff of experienced and well-educated Therapists.
We offer both Licensed Therapists and Therapists in Training that are supervised by a Licensed Professional Counselor while they are collecting hours to obtain their license.
We have two different scales, one to see a Therapist in Training a.k.a.
Resident in Counseling and one to see a Licensed Therapist.
Patients have the option of seeing either Christina Schultz or David Tsveer, our two Residents in Counseling, for a reduced fee, either $80 or $85 and $100 or $105 for your initial intake evaluation.

This is for clients who have not had treatment before.
Clients use the workbook "Facing the Shadows" by Dr. Patrick Carnes.
Clients work on early recovery skills, building a base of support, family issues, and family of origin/trauma issues.
Clients are asked to make a 6 month commitment.
