I will spend about 10-15 minutes getting an overview of your concerns, answer any questions, and let you know how I can help, or suggest some other options. We will set up a time for an initial diagnostic assessment (approximately 60-90 minutes). We will then agree on a course of treatment. Therapy appointments will usually be about 50 minutes. Throughout, you can expect to be treated as a person worthy of respect, compassion, empathy, and support.
I am here to help, not blame. I believe that people do things for a reason, even if they are unsure of what the reason is. Of course that doesn't mean I am not willing to speak the truth, even if it is uncomfortable. I have worked with with individuals of all races and sexual orientations, and most belief systems. In addition to private practice, I have worked in settings that include prisons, substance abuse treatment facilities, and college counseling centers.
The most important thing that I have learned is that everyone is a unique individual.
