Somehow, the expectations don't always line up with reality and you just can't seem to figure out how to bring everything into balance. A quick fix would be nice, but you've come to realize that everything worth having takes a while to build and develop. Therapy can offer immediate relief and it's also part of the long game of creating and living the way you've always hoped.

These are the flashes of realization when you begin to see yourself and your world in a whole new light. As time goes on, these little "aha moments" string together and illuminate the way you understand your past, live in the present, and move into your future. We named our counseling practice {Space Between} Counseling Services because we all need to have a peaceful, safe place to pause and reflect in the midst of our busy lives between the chaos + rigidity.

Our goal is to help you find the spaces of FLOW between sessions. The times of transition, the moments between action and reaction, the distance that might be growing between you and your inner peace OR maybe you and your partner.

Have you ever been curious about the meaning behind our logo?
The nine rays of the abstract sun are representative of the nine areas of work that our team is committed to as a practice.
Over six years of deep human connection have helped us to identify the niches in which we do our most focused work.
If you find yourself within any of these nine rays, we may be an ideal fit practice for you.
We also use the term "work" intentionally - because therapy is hard work.
Because of this reality, we want our clients to be intentional about who they work with, and when they do their therapeutic "heavy lifting".
Perhaps you're new to therapy and you can't quite believe you're about to pick up the phone to make an appointment.
Or, you may have seen several counselors over the years and you know a little something about what you're looking for.
I'd like to help you understand your own "yes, it's time to see someone" and also decide if I am the person you're ready to call.
Personally, we at SBCS have a huge appreciation for structure.
That means we love to make healthy structures work and we also recognize the ways that structures can become limiting and even punishing.
Growing up was a struggle.
Family life could be hard and I often had trouble fitting in.
But then, I left home and dedicated myself to creating my own life by doing well at school, establishing a career, and building my own relationships.
I grew up in a family of self-starters: farmers, tinkerers, and caretakers of cows (hence, the grainy photo of a young me and a few cows).
They all taught me about hard work and how to thrive in the natural landscape, but I didn't necessarily learn how to tend to my own emotional landscape in those years.
Our team of therapists is comprised of clinicians with unique specializations who offer varying availability in BALTIMORE CITY.
Our Flagship office is conveniently located in Mt.
Vernon (21201) in order to work within your modern life, not against it.
