Many people think of counseling as a way to fix something that's broken.
Anxiety is a completely natural, healthy emotional state in a variety of situations.
In fact, anxiety can keep you safe.
Feeling anxious is the mind's way of warning us that something in our environment is dangerous, potentially harmful, or could negatively impact our lives.
Feeling mild anxiety when driving in traffic can help you stay alert to prevent an accident.
Experiencing anxiety before a business presentation or test can motivate you to do your best.
Unfortunately, some people experience disordered levels of anxiety that can start having a negative impact on their ability to complete daily tasks.
Depression is like looking at life through hazy glasses.
The haze created by depression affects everything; your relationships, your career, and your activities.
It used to be that you enjoyed your life; it was vibrant, in color, but now, it's just dull.
If this sounds familiar, it may be time to contact the caring team of therapists at Talking Circles Therapy & Wellness to discuss depression counseling in Albuquerque, NM.
Our knowledgeable team of professionals are here for you, and we can help you find more satisfaction, motivation, and fulfillment.
Trauma is an event(s) that occurred in childhood or as an adult that is so overwhelming and inherently frightening that it causes temporary, and in some cases permanent, changes in our physical and psychological responses to stress.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other debilitating responses to trauma result when the body's normal psychological defenses against stress become overwhelmed.
Thus, long after the initial trauma occurs, people may respond as if the traumatic event is currently happening; experiencing strong and painful feelings that may result in self-defeating or even self-destructive behaviors.
