My name is Amberly Gallagher and I am happy you are here! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving Colorado Springs, to include Ft. Carson, Peterson AFB, Fountain, and Security/Widefield. I passionately provide and specialize in couples counseling, play therapy/parenting support for children, and women/teenage girls. I believe in the power of strong families!
Everything we are and everything we do is connected, in some way, to our relationships. When we are in conflict with those we love the most, including ourselves, we can experience deep and damaging effects in all aspects of our lives. Only when we feel safe, loved, and attached are we able to experience true joy and peace. In my small and personalized practice, we can work together to restore, renew, and repair your most important relationships.
You are the expert of your own life and it is my goal to work alongside you as you build a more rewarding and fulfilling family system! I am also available and highly-qualified and excited to provide consulting and coaching services to daycare and preschool teachers/centers to prevent and manage challenging behavior in school.

Established in 2013, Tapestry Counseling has evolved from a very small part-time practice, working primarily with low-income and pro-bono clients, to a still part-time, but busy and specialized practice focusing on couples, children & parents, and women & girls.

My training in Marriage and Family Therapy allows me to help you untangle all the relationships in your life, including the relationship with yourself, to move towards more functionality, joy, and health.

Working from a systems lens, I work with you and your partner to identify the root of your conflict and foster a climate where you can safely share your vulnerability and grow your attachment and intimacy.
Intimate relationships are similar to a mechanical system, each part relying on the other to keep the system functioning.
In couples therapy with me, you and your partner will learn practical communication skills, how to reconnect and become a team, and more importantly, learn to identify the broken parts in your system's cycle and restore it back to full functioning.

I work with children with issues around challenging behaviors, emotional regulation, self-esteem and confidence, coping skills, anger management, ADHD, anxiety, divorce, bullying, trauma, and more.
My experience with children, outside of being a mom of 3, began over 15 yrs ago.
Children don't often know how to express or put words to what their emotions are or why they show the behaviors they do.
I have extensive training in understanding children's behavior and can help you and your child better communicate and enjoy each other.

I have a passion for and commitment to empowering women.
As women, we are responsible for wearing many hats and we often forget or don't know how to nurture and love ourselves.
Having come through my own significant experiences has shaped who I am and gives me unique insight into the value of self-love and personal growth.
I am honored to work with women to identify and access their best selves; moving from merely surviving to flourishing and thriving.
I am inspired by the works of Brene Brown, Harriet Lerner, Melodie Beatty, and Pia Mellody and draw on their research and wisdom in my work with women.
