If you are struggling with life's challenges, you are not alone; I can offer you professional guidance, support, and hope. With distinguished professional credentials and 30 years of practice, I've helped numerous teens, adults, and couples overcome their obstacles and lead healthier, happier, more fulfilling and productive lives. I can help you to create the life-changing transformations that good therapy provides.

I understand the obstacles you face and will provide the insight, strategies, and tools you need to successfully overcome them. Through the compassion, safety, and honesty of our therapeutic relationship, I will help you to address your struggles. I collaborate with you to provide the care that best meets your goals and needs. While some people receive the clarity and relief they seek within a few sessions, most people experience the rewards of working with me longer.

Our relationship helps you gain the insight, healing, and courage you need to resolve your issues, deepen your relationships and grow to reach your potential.
Services
My wide range of experience and professional expertise enable me to get to the bottom of problems, offer solutions and help you affect change quickly.
While most people enjoy building and cherishing long-term therapeutic relationships with me, sometimes people get what they need in one or a few sessions.
I often hear that my insights and our work are "life-changing" and "transformative, " even for people who have been in therapy before.
First, we will meet for an Initial Evaluation.
I will help you address your concerns and struggles and hear what you hope to achieve.
Using your time and resources efficiently, I offer practical solutions to help you resolve conflict, navigate transitions, cope with adversity and improve your circumstances.
I teach techniques (including mindfulness, relaxation, imagery, self-hypnosis, and breathing) to help you manage stress and anger, decrease anxiety, depression, and self-destructive behavior, and cultivate a positive outlook and mood.
I help you understand the connection between your physical and mental health.
I support you in developing a self-care regiment (including nutrition, exercise, meditation, and spiritual practice), promote neuroplasticity to support your growth, and create balance, joy, and meaning in your life.
My academic and clinical training in child development and family systems enables me to provide excellent care for you and your loved ones.
I am familiar with the increasing social, athletic and academic challenges and stressors with which parents and their children contend in our local communities.
I understand the dynamics of today's modern family: divorcing, blending and changing.
I grasp how challenging and humbling parenting can be, especially with the challenges emerging from rampant violence and social media.
I am not on any insurance panels and do not work with insurance providers.
However, if you have a PPO insurance plan (one that covers "out of network" providers), my services should be covered.
Per request, I provide monthly invoices for you to submit for reimbursement.
Below are my Practice Policies Forms.
Please download and read them to make sure you understand and are in accord with my office procedures.
In 1990, opened a practice in Walnut Creek, specializing in child, adolescent, adult and family diagnostics and psychotherapy.
Thanks to the wonderful patients with whom I have had the privilege of working, and the confidence of referring physicians and peers, my practice continues to grow and evolve.
Selected for the International Association of Health Care Professionals, a network of "top doctors" who are deemed leaders in their respective fields.
Served in the Leadership and Advocacy program of the California Psychological Association, promoting public mental health care through legislative advocacy in Sacramento.
