One of the things I love the most about being a therapist is being able to see the visible transformation in my clients who move from feeling fearful, worried, self-critical or anxious to being able to feel how loveable, adequate, powerful and capable they really are.

My name is Amy Spangler-Dunning, LPC, Mdiv (Masters of Divinity).
I have recently returned to my home state of VA, and am happy to be providing mental health care here in Lynchburg at Counseling Connections.
Prior to this, I lived in Des Moines, IA where I obtained my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling (2012) at Drake University.
From there, I practiced full time at the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center, a mind, body, spirit focused non-profit center.
My approach to therapy is rooted in a belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all people and that, though we struggle in different ways, we each have within us the capacity for healing.

Counseling Connections will help you learn exactly what mental health benefits are included in your health insurance plan and will bill the insurance company directly for you.
Most clients have a co-pay that ranges between $20 and $40 per session, although this is dependent on meeting deductibles and the exact benefits of your particular plan.
