At its best, therapy utilizes collaboration and safety; meaning the client has a right to both be a consenting recipient as well as an active participant within the therapeutic relationship. My role as a therapist is two-fold: to act as an activist that helps make therapy more safe and equitable for all persons, as well as a guide for those I work with - tackling both inner and outer barriers to wellness.
Mental health services belong to all people, no matter their socioeconomic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can benefit from being authentically seen and heard. If you have gotten to this point in your search, you already contain the courage to become your best self. But no one achieves this alone.
At times it feels as if brokenness is part of the human condition. So much so, that we have become accustomed to functioning as fragments, within our relationships, families, communities, and even ourselves. However, to live fragmented is to exist beneath your birthright.

Services
I reside and practice from the heart of Central Virginia with my incredible husband and three beautiful children.
In nearly a decade, I've been able to work in multiple treatment environments -- using a variety of traditional and nontraditional modalities.
From Cognitive-based, Somatic Therapy and Trauma-Sensitive mindfulness practices, to the creative arts, Play Therapy and inner child work, I love to make my methods as individualized as those who desire support.
For the past 3 years, I've had the privilege of volunteering for a local maternal health nonprofit that is impassioned with sustaining free programming that empowers, educates, and gives support.

Brittney is a very knowledgeable, personable, and genuine person that I've had the pleasure of working with.
Brittney is an asset to our team and her expertise and willingness to share resources are a value that is both rare and priceless.
The progress, empowerment, and skills that she instructs and encourages in her clients show in their ability to thrive outside of the therapeutic setting.
Brittney George is such a supportive and encouraging individual that is able to inspire and engage others to trust their strengths to help them grow to achieve their own greatness.
