Psychotherapy can and does work. Many of the clients who seek treatment from CPG have never seen a therapist or counselor before. Many seek help because they are dissatisfied with their lives or their relationships. Many feel unhappy or stuck. Many clients feel they are not who they want to be or where they thought they would be in their lives. Others seek treatment around a specific problem or crisis - such as a break-up or loss.
Many others struggle with ongoing depression or anxiety. Many have sought treatment in the past and are looking to begin therapy again in a new environment with a new provider. If you are considering therapy, we encourage you to reach out to one of us - either by phone or email. We'll provide a free telephone consultation to assess whether we might be able to help.
Once you come in for therapy, we will work with you over the first few sessions to create treatment goals and a plan that is best for you.

Services
Our primary approach to treatment is rooted in our education and advanced training in psychodynamic and relational theories and therapies.
We also employ techniques from a number of other approaches including cognitive-behavioral, supportive, and solution-focused interventions.
There is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy.
Through an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, we'll work with you to identify and understand your thoughts and feelings, and to ultimately change your behavioral and relational patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best.

Good psychotherapy requires not only good credentials but a good match between the therapist and the client.
Though I am well educated, I often think that it is my personal style that matters most in my work with clients.
I'm well trained in psychotherapy, but I never hide behind theory and I am not wedded to one school of thought.
I believe that therapy should be both an intellectual and an emotional challenge that should be difficult but rewarding every step of the way.
As a therapist, I listen intently, care deeply, and challenge often.

I aspire to listen, understand, and guide each person I treat through the problems that are getting in the way of them feeling more happy and fulfilled.
I believe that a good fit between therapist and patient is a critical aspect of psychotherapy and can be very transformative.
I hope to create a collaborative, non-judgmental atmosphere where you feel safe and can explore how your inner thoughts and feelings affect your daily functioning.
This relational process in psychotherapy can help you achieve greater self-acceptance and more fulfilling relationships with the people in your life.
