Life is full of daily struggles, and it is sometimes nice to have a caring and non-biased person to help figure things out. I understand that reaching out to a therapist can be difficult. For a lot of people, counseling can be intimidating, overwhelming, or even uncomfortable. As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), my goal is to create a therapeutic relationship that is meaningful, non-judgmental, and genuine.

I want to help you feel more at ease while discussing the challenges you are facing. I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but I have lived in Nashville since 2005. In my career and training, besides private practice, I have worked as a mental health counselor in middle and high school settings and have had internships with non-profit agencies in the Nashville area.

In these roles, I have conducted individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, mediations, and organized efforts focused on suicide prevention.
Services
I love working with teens, college-aged, and young adults as transitions and experiences during these stages of life can be hard to manage.
It feels like everyone has everything together, but you are overwhelmed.
Juggling school and/or work, social obligations, other responsibilities, friends, dating relationships, and family dynamics can often seem to be too much.
I hope to give you helpful skills and tools to minimize your level of stress.
I also see a lot of past and current trauma.
Trauma can stem from negative events (big or small) and relationships throughout life, which can affect the way we view ourselves, others, and our overall worldview.
Sessions will be 50 minutes in length.
We will discuss the paperwork during the first session along with any of your concerns or hesitations.
Along with going over the paperwork, I will likely ask more about background and history, family dynamics, current issues, and goals of counseling in order to see the whole picture.
I get that the counseling process can feel awkward.
Outlining your story to a stranger can be extremely challenging.
I really admire your courage and vulnerability for wanting to explore and process.
