Sometimes we do things better, because we like doing it more than other things.
As someone who's spent quite awhile doing a number of things, it is now a pleasure to be doing precisely what I like doing, and doing it well.
Regardless what one might think, there is certain wisdom, mixed with a proper education that qualifies us, or some of us, to be good at what we do.
My age, and my experiences, gives me insight to see and understand so many of life's issues.
And, it is this acquired insight, followed by a substantial amount of education, which lets me be an effective and meaningful psychotherapist.
Internship with Marilyn Varcoe & Associates: Naples, Florida.
We had an open practiced with a variety of clients from PTSD and mood disorders to mature clients adjusting to life as seniors.
Officially trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) - Diane Clayton Seminars, Bonita Springs, FL.
1 How do I know if I need therapy, or just to talk to someone?
Answer: It's a hard question to answer, unless you think you are really losing control or others have recommended you do so.
Sometimes we simply need to be reassured and listened to.
It doesn't hurt to talk to someone who is both experienced, educated, and objective.
2 What happens in therapy sessions?
Answer: Nothing very scary, if that's what you might be thinking.
Those of us with the experience of knowing how to listen and keep one's narrative in perspective, are able to work slowly and compassionately without an alarming experience.
