Amber is an Associate Licensed Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama. I believe counseling is a journey for clients to find the beacon of light again in their lives.
As a therapist, I see myself sometimes as a guide and sometimes as a partner with the client on that journey toward peace. The first counseling session can be scary sometimes, especially when you are unsure of what to expect. During my first session with a client, I like to focus on getting to know them. We complete some basic paperwork about what brings them to counseling and what they can expect from the counseling process.
I like to spend the rest of the session listening to any questions or concerns from clients before concluding our time together. AEB Counseling Services offers sessions focused on aiding parents on an array of different topics.
