Services
When should my child be referred?
If you have a school-age child who is struggling in school and losing confidence, an evaluation may be appropriate to determine their strengths and weaknesses and identify any underlying learning or emotional difficulties.
If your child is preschool-age or younger and having difficulty meeting developmental milestones you may want to have your child evaluated to determine a proper course of treatment.
The evaluation will provide a comprehensive view of the child's overall functioning including his or her strengths and weaknesses.
Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that pertains to your child's development, medical history, and any school-related information (if applicable).
You will be asked to bring the questionnaire (already filled out) to your first appointment where the information will be reviewed and expanded upon.
Based on the information you provide, it will be determined whether an assessment is necessary.
The assessment includes testing of cognitive, language, academic, and fine-motor/visual-motor skills.
The first session is typically an initial consult and only the parent(s) attends this meeting.
If psychological testing is deemed appropriate then a follow-up appointment will be made for the parent(s) and child.
After testing is completed a feedback session will be scheduled and a report will be issued.
Once an appointment is scheduled, please notify me 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel.
Things come up and children often get sick, but where possible, please provide me with enough time to schedule another client.
