I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with minors in Studio Art and French Language from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. My focus as a psychology student was on child development and attachment. I have a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Antioch University Seattle. I have spent the last seven gaining experiences around a variety of different populations and focuses both in Washington and Texas.

I am a Registered Mental Health Professional (MHP), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and Art Therapist (ATR) located in Seattle, WA. I work with children and adolescents ages 4-18 and adults using art therapy and therapeutic play. I also work with families in all different forms. I work collaboratively with my clients from a Client Centered perspective incorporating Art Therapy, Therapeutic Play, and Feminist perspectives of equity most often.

I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and will often include CBT directives as it is beneficial to my clients.
Services
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation in order to gather some presenting information and discover if I would be the right fit for your needs.
I serve all ages for individual sessions.
I work with children and adolescents ages 4+ and all adults.
Individual sessions are scheduled on the hour and typically run for 50-55 minutes in order to allow time to reset my office and self in between clients.
Nothing for an individual happens in a vacuum and sometimes the most helpful work for a presenting problem can be family work.
Art Therapy is a mode of therapy used by and for many different types of people and presenting issues.
This type of therapy uses creativity and expression in order to communicate and access different parts of the brain, memory, and the body.
There is not one type of art therapy or one type of person it works well for and there no need to be an artist in order to participate in Art Therapy.
At this point I'll refrain from launching into a "We are all artists lecture."
I often explain Art Therapy to my very young clients this way (but this description is so simple and straightforward that maybe it will resonate with you as well): When you meet someone who speaks a language you don't speak, you know how you have to figure out a way to communicate?
One of my favorite resources for parents is the Playful Wisdom blog from Olympia Therapy.
These Play Therapists write wonderfully informative blog posts and create easy-to-read documents about what children are experiencing at different ages and how to address different behaviors.
A few of my favorites are What Do You Do, When You Don't Know What To Do As A Parent? all about the Window of Tolerance for children and adolescents (and adults!) and When they all look alike: ADHD, Anxiety, & SPD.
The Whole-Brain Child by Dan Siegel continues to be one of my favorite resources to recommend to parents and caregivers as they are reflecting on communication styles and behaviors.
Research shows that the most important part of therapeutic process is finding a therapist who's right for you!
Because of that I offer free 15 minute consultations prior to a first appointment in order for us both to decide if I'm the right fit for you, your family, or your child.
If you would like to schedule an appointment after we have a consultation, I will email you a link to my electronic health record system and client portal for electronic signing.
I. MY PLEDGE REGARDING HEALTH INFORMATION: I understand that health information about you and your health care is personal.
