Services
Our Mission Statement is: "Neighbors helping neighbors build strong communities and healthy families."
Rural Enrichment and Counseling Headquarters (REACH) is a nonprofit human service center located in Hawley, MN.
Founded in 1991 to serve the rural residents in Becker, Clay and Norman counties, REACH works with local agencies to provide counseling, education, food, clothing and other necessities.
REACH provides support to families functioning under conditions of stress.
Our Family Support Coordinator is available to encourage self-sufficiency and assist people with necessities such as food, clothing, and emergency heat and energy assistance.
REACH Reusables Secondhand Store can provide clients vouchers for clothing and household necessities.
Driving Program for Older Adults provides transportation to seniors for medical appointments in the Fargo-Moorhead and Detroit Lakes areas.
We encourage anyone who is having difficulty to call us at 483-3145, visit our office, or e-mail.
REACH collaborates with the Great Plains Food Bank, North Country Food Bank, and Feeding America to provide children in Hawley, Ulen-Hitterdal School Districts, Glyndon-Felton Elementary School, and Norman County East Elementary School with food to take home and consume over the weekend each Friday during the school year.
Children receive nutritious, kid-friendly, and shelf stable items such as juice, cereal, soup, fruit, granola bars, and easy to prepare individual meals.
It currently costs $5.00 to fill each backpack bag with these items, and monetary donations for the BackPack Program are greatly appreciated, as REACH can purchase food through the Great Plains Food Bank at a nominal cost.
REACH provides career services for men and women entering or reentering the workforce.
Our services include providing interview-appropriate clothing and workplace-appropriate clothing after a job is secured, as well as, resume writing assistance and mock interviews.
Donations of new or gently used clothing for our career services program can be made at the REACH Reusables Thrift Store in Hawley, MN during regular thrift store hours.
REACH was formed by volunteers in 1991 and volunteers continue to be vital to our organization.
Many of our programs and services are volunteer based, which provides a wide variety of volunteer opportunities sure to fit almost everyone's interest.
Each volunteer brings their own special talents that enhance the servcies we deliver.
